About the Georg-Menges-Prize
In cooperation with the Plastics and Rubber Machinery sector of the VDMA and the PlasticsEurope Association Germany, the IKV Association of Sponsors founded the Georg Menges Prize ten years ago. Since then, the prize has been awarded to people who have rendered outstanding service to cooperation between the sciences and economics in the field of plastics processing.
By presenting the Georg Menges Prize to outstanding personalities who have shown by example how to attain an effective transfer of knowledge, the founders want to encourage others to act in the same way. The idea of the prize is to promote dialogue and partnership between companies and research institutions.
Putting research results into practice is the only way in which new products can be developed. The accomplishments of the prizewinners have had a huge impact on the future of plastics processing.
The award is named after Professor Dr.-Ing. em. Georg Menges, a former head of the IKV and a visionary in the field of plastics processing.
